What is “A View from the Hill”?

An original, brilliantly illustrated and highly readable new book on the area between the Thames and the Ridgeway. We have combined the knowledge, talent and enthusiasm of professional and amateur specialists to tell the story of the diverse and beautiful place in which we live. There is a notional observation point on a small, enigmatic rise near the Berkshire Downs called Blewburton Hill. Botanists, farmers, historians, archaeologists, scientists, artists, photographers, naturalists, authors and poets have each taken this stand to let us see their “view from the hill”.

The book is a model for any community that wishes to document itself and leave its children a sense of its compilers’ love of their distinctive place.

Extract of review - Michael Riggs - August 2007.

The book is avaliable to buy on-line or in many quality book stores through out Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.
